HONORING NAYREE
Artist, dreamer, cancer-fighter, inspiration.
Nayree (1995–2011) battled and beat Leukemia. She later developed a secondary cancer.
Despite the obvious hardships of chronic health challenges, Nayree had a buoyant spirit and shared love and joy generously. She was an artist, loved animals, music, cooking, gardening, and her family.
Nayree had a passion for travel and was particularly interested in the Pacific Coast. She traveled locally throughout New England, and also to Florida, England, and France. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

WHY CHOOSE US
We grant scholarships to under-resourced college students to support their arts engagement and overall education.
National Endowment for the Arts studies show that low-income students with access to arts education are twice as likely to graduate college.
Investing in creativity supports students in all fields of study.
STUDENTS NEED ART
Our award recipients report feeling like creativity is a lifeline. Even while engaged in creative rigor, they feel relief from the pressures of achievement and future-building.
The arts are for everyone and every field. Our recipients have obtained professional marketing projects as students, worked in galleries, and integrated artistic practices into STEM - making visual models of natural phenomena and producing educational models of marine life.
The Nayree Painted Turtle Memorial Fund is committed to granting scholarships to students in ALL fields of study who want to further their arts education and engagement.
